Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves finely grated or minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced spring onions and sesame seeds to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken thighs with a little salt and pepper.
  • Heat a non-stick frying pan like this over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and chicken thighs, and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side using tongs like these until golden and mostly cooked through.
  • In a small mixing bowl like this, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, finely grated garlic (one like this works brilliantly), vinegar or lemon juice, and chilli flakes if using.
  • Pour the sauce into the pan with the chicken. Reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer for 8–10 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
  • Once the chicken is fully cooked and coated in the glaze, remove from the heat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onions if using.
  • Serve with rice, noodles, or greens.
