Classic Sangria Recipe with Fresh Fruit & Red Wine

Ingredients
1bottle750ml dry red wine (like Tempranillo or Garnacha)
1orangesliced into rounds
1lemonsliced into rounds
1applechopped into small chunks
100mlorange juice
2tbspbrandy or orange liqueurlike Cointreau – optional
1tbspsugar or honeyadjust to taste
200mlsparkling water or lemonadeto top up

Instructions
Add the sliced orange, lemon, and chopped apple to a large jug or pitcher like this one. Sprinkle over the sugar or honey and use a long-handled spoon such as this to muddle the fruit gently, releasing some of the juices.
Pour in the red wine, orange juice, and brandy or liqueur if using. Give it all a good stir, then chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour — longer if you’ve got time.
Just before serving, add a handful of ice and top up with sparkling water or lemonade, then give it a final stir. Pour into wine glasses or tumblers like these and garnish with extra fruit and mint sprigs.
